WHAT IS BAC-NET ?

BAC-NET is an acronym for Businesses Against Crime Network.   BAC-NET is focused on all crimes that affect both large and small businesses in Dallas.  These include robbery, fraud & scams, hot checks, embezzlement, property loss, and a wide range of business-related crimes.

BAC-NET provides two Crime Prevention Activities:

FIRSTBAC-NET provides Basic Business Crime Prevention Information and frequent Business Crime Alerts, available for all businesses and the general public to view and utilize.

SECOND:  For BAC-NET Members who have provided e-mail contact information to DPD, BAC-NET provides two-way communication between the police and businesses concerning current business crime alerts, suspect descriptions and photos, BAC-NET meetings, and other messages of interest.
Through meetings, classes, and a special BAC-NET email network, a Neighborhood Police Officer can notify BAC-NET members about known theft rings, methods of operation, known criminals targeting businesses, information on Anti-Theft/Anti-Crime programs and activities, and successful Crime Prevention Techniques used by other businesses.
